Treat People With Respect

In my working line, we kind of having some sort of "hierarchy".

On top is client, then consultant, then the contractors. I am belong to the consultant's side.

There's this one colleague belongs to the client's side. A young lady from Gen Y (nanti la citer pasal Gen Y). I have long ago can't get along with her because I find her is so annoying and brags a lot. She likes to interfere works here and there without studying the issue first, makes sarcastic remarks and refuses to tolerate the situation.

So ramai la in our team members tak suka dia. Everyone says she is so bossy. Selalu sgt dia marah kat contractors tak bertempat and with us the consultants, demand mcm2 benda.

Awal2 dulu masa mula2 kenal, saya layan la jugak dia, thinking she might needs some guidance because she just started working last year but whenever I tried to teach her, she would behave as if she already knew everything. For me, whenever she asks questions, it is more creating an issue rather than wanting to understand it.

Nak masuk site pon, nak ajak org sana sini teman, kereta dia tak nak guna, nak gak naik kereta org sbb tak nak kereta dia kotor. Padahal kereta tu diberi for site purposes, petrol card semua provided tau! Sy sekali dua dulu layan la, tapi asal tumpang keta kita je dok komen ala2 "pukul anak sindir menantu".

"Mak saya bising kata keta sy kotor kak".....

Sudah la ngko, keta ko punya berkilat lagi ko nak perli keta aku kotor ek!!!!

Because I ignore her most of the time and tak bape layan dia sgt, slowly she got the message kot!

Yesterday, paling tak tahan la. I had lunch together with her and some ladies from surveyor team which came down here from KL.

She was buzy telling the ladies about how stressful it is working on this project. How she has to be some sort of superwoman in order to control the contractors.

Saya diam jeeeeeeeee.....walaupun dalam hati "amboi2 budak ni...". Sebab kita tau la role cemana sebenarnya.

Bila dia ckp "sbb tu saya kena mulut tajam, marah contractor ni semua, kalau x diorg tak dengar semua"

Time tu sy mmg tak tahan dah, terus keluar remark dr mulut saya:

"Awak kena ingat, jgn simply marah2 org, hidup kita mcm roda, kejap atas kejap kat bawah, u would never knew if one day u'll be on the down side".

Selamba je saya ckp. Dan dia terus diam...mujur diam, kalau x ada je benda dia nak jawab balik.

Adoi la minah, tolong la jgn berlagak sangat just because now you are working as a client. Contractor ke consultant ke, hatta Bangla yg keje buruh kasar tu pon kita kena ada rasa hormat pada semua.

I learned this years ago thru my mentor, Mr. M masa keje with my first company. He is an Indian elderly man whose working experience as an engineer is decades of years. Sangat la cool dan well mannered tapi tegas.

I remember that time I was to assist senior engineers, and they were rude to the contractors. Without realize it, I kind of adopting the same manners. Until Mr. M talked me out and advised me about respecting other people no matter who they are.

Mr. M ckp lembut aje dgn contractors and engineers bawah dia. Tapi tak bermakna dia lembik. People listen to him. Kalau x betul, dia akan bgtau dgn tegas. Tapi takde nak jerit ke, nak maki ke, nak sarcastic ke. Straight to the point!

I hope this lady remember what I said as I always remember what Mr. M said.

Please have some respect!

That Little Girl

Tadi, in my FB ada org share kat group Kump. Ibu2 Meyusukan mencari ibu susuan utk seorg baby lahir at 34 weeks kalau x silap and her mother passed away due to brain tumor....

Thanks to news spread in FB, senang org ramai mendapat makluman dan hulurkan bantuan.

I guess susu ibu sgt diperlukan baby tersebut utk kuatkan sistem imunisasi dia memandangkan dia lahir x cukup bulan. Kita doakan semoga baby kecil itu kuat dan dipermudahkan segalanya oleh Allah s.w.t.

Teluk Senangin

Meh nak citer sikit pasal Teluk Senangin....

First time I came here in 2011, sebulan lepas balik dr Jerman sbb masa tu Kak Liza, cik Dee, Liza & Mat balik bercuti kat Malaysia. Jadi alang2 diorg balik, and I've been hearing about Teluk Senangin masa kat Jerman, so kami pon pegi la kesana. Then second time bulan Oktober tahun yg sama kami dtg lagi jumpa Kak Liza n Cik Dee yg balik bercuti sekali lagi.

So kali ini kunjungan kami yg ke-3 ke Teluk Senangin.

Teluk Senangin ni terletak hampir dgn Lumut. About 20km from Manjung. Kata Kak Liza, mak dia asal dari sini. Tu yang dia ada rumah pusaka kat sini. Dulu2 kawasan ni sgt remote dan hanya ada  perkampungan kecil nelayan. No proper access road, diorg kena guna laluan laut utk pegi ke Lumut. If not, diorg kena jln kaki dr main road, menempuh hutan utk sampai ke Teluk Senangin ni.

Now Teluk Senangin semakin maju. Since Swiss Garden Lumut dibuka about 5-6km away from pantai Teluk Senangin, sudah ada proper road. Semakin ramai org luar masuk, dtg berkelah, mandi-manda dan ada yg buat bisnes chalet dan motel. Penduduk asal masih ada tp rata2 hidup dlm kemiskinan. You can tell which one rumah org kampung dan org luar. Rumah org2 kampung look shabby, tak terjaga dan ada yg mcm nak roboh dah.

Walaupun tempat ni sgt cantik with white sandy beach and clean seawater, tempat ni agak tidak terjaga. Paling sedih, there's no proper drainage and sewerage system except for chalets and motels which I guess are using septic tanks. Org2 kampung buang sampah kat satu gaung ni. I guess majlis bandaran tak hantar lori sampah masuk sini kot. Motel I stayed, at least they hire service to pick up garbage and send it to proper landfill.

Dua kali kami dtg sini, kami menumpang tido kat rumah Kak Liza but this time around kami sewa bilik kat Kamilla Motel. Jarak rumah Kak Liza dan motel ni dalam 500m je kot. Dan Kamilla Motel ni betul2 terletak depan pantai.

In terms of exterior, Kamilla Motel ni mmg nampak cantik tp the interior agak pathetic. I know it's a low budget motel tapi if you charge a room at RM110/night, surely you should provide a better accommodation. Ni tilam keras cam kayu, langsung tekan2 pon tak tenggelam. Toilet tak best langsung and deco langsung takde. Cuma yg grand sikit sbb ada aircond dan TV with one ASTRO channel. Tu aje....

Anyway, it's the best one in the vicinity compared to other chalets in the area...unless you are looking for luxurious accommodation, then you should go to Swiss Garden or Damar Laut Resort. Yang tu all together dah isolated from this area sbb there are private beach for the hotel guests.

Kamilla Motel, luar nampak cantik.
The landscape here is nice. I love the pergola.

Cik HB and Insyirah kat entrance Kamilla Motel

On the other hand, since Teluk Senangin agak terpencil, jadi pilihan utk membeli brg dan makan2 adalah terhad. Adalah satu dua kedai makan but the choices of food is limited. Malam pertama kami sampai kami makan kat satu kedai depan Kamilla Motel. Minta nasi goreng cina tapi ada cili padi kat dalamnya...huhuhu. I wonder whether tukang masak tau ke tak beza nasi goreng cina dan nasi goreng cili padi.

Saya tengok org2 yg dtg menginap kat chalet2 tu, semua mcm  masak sendiri. Tapi kat Kamilla Motel ni memasak adalah dilarang ye!

Second day, kami sibuk dgn kenduri kahwin Zurina, jadi makanan semua Kak Liza dan catered siap2 dr breakfast sampai la dinner. Third day tu la baru kami cari breakfast sendiri. Ada la satu kedai yg jual breakfast, so makan je apa yang ada.  Oh, just don't be surprised dgn kadar kewujudan lalat yg sgt byk. Serius banyak! Org situ ckp lalat ni mmg major issue kat situ sbb dekat2 situ ada few kawasan ternakan ayam. Jadi lalat adalah tidak terkawal. Masa kenduri Zurina pon, cik Dee dgn gigihnya sembur air serai wangi sepanjang masa nak halau lalat.

Pagi Ahad, sempat mandi kat pantai Teluk Senangin

Beautiful Teluk Senangin
Budak berdua ni sibuk cari ketam

Budak kecik ni refused masuk air. main tanah pon tak nak.

Dia sibuk mengunyah je!

Marah sbb kami paksa dia main pasir, tabur pasir tu atas tangan and badan dia. Dia ni geli kot ngan pasir, siap dah buang pasir tu pon, dia still tunjuk2 tangan dia. Dah lap bersih2 baru diam.

So that's it la citer pasal Teluk Senangin. Mudah2an satu hari nanti isu lalat kat situ selesai.

Zurina & Alexander Stefan's Wedding

Weekend baru ni kami ke Teluk Senangin, Perak, menghadiri majlis perkahwinan anak Kak Liza, Zurina. If you read my blog from beginning, these people are our friends since the time I was in Germany.

Zurina is married to her boyfriend, Stefan, half Greek-half German. Zurina pulak is half Malay-half German. I knew Stefan dari zaman I was there in Germany because he always involved in our 'makan-activities' :). Don't be surprise to see that he can eat all sambals, curries and other Malay foods. A very friendly guy too.

I haven't seen Zurina & Stefan for more than two years since I left Germany back in 2011, but seeing them again brought the memories and warmth  we had. Kak Liza and Cik Dee kami jumpa like twice a year kot, because whenever they are back in Malaysia, it's either we visit them in Teluk Senangin or they come to see us in Melaka.

Wedding in Teluk Senangin actually the 3rd reception for them. First one in Germany, then they had another one in Bali and third one - kampung/Malay style wedding. Kak Liza had been talking about this wedding since I was in Germany, how she wished the wedding would be.

Tak sangka the wedding dah berlangsung pon!

The twins and Liya Raihana jadi flower girls.
Luckily I managed to find ready-made baju kaler peach for three of them

Zurina is so beautiful, isn't she?

Tunggu pengantin lelaki datang

She did her own make-up. She said she doesn't like the make-up
by the wedding planner sbb tebal sgt. Cantik kan her own work?

Rombongan pengantin lelaki dtg

Walaupun panas (pukul 5pm tapi still sgt panas), pengantin mat salleh ni steady je
dalam senyuman with complete baju pengantin...hehehe

Such a beautiful couple kan?

Atas pelamin. Take note pengapit lelaki tu...half time, dia surrender jadi pengapit sbb tak tahan panas. Ala2 nak pengsan dah. Tapi pas dah duduk for a while, minum...dia resuma balik task dia...hehehe. Songkok tu x tanggal sampai ke mlm walaupun dah tukar baju casual.

Pengantin dengan keluarga Zurina - mak dia Kak Liza, adik dia Awie dan stepfather - cik Dee

Us with pengantin...Insyirah tido masa ni.

Meet Awie again after about 2 years. He's a pure Malay descendent tp kalau tgk ketinggian dia, mesti korang tak kata dia budak Melayu. He stands at 6'2 feet kalau x silap.

It was also a reunion for - me, Zul Konti, Awie and Mat

And Liza as well....gosh, I really miss those time in Raunheim with these people...we were so close together. Oh, apart from them, kawan2 ex-Frankfurt yg lain - kak Emi & En. Asaari pon ada dtg tapi x sempat bergambar. Suharti n Ijat pon sepatutnya nak dtg tapi dikhabarkan Ijat kena bekerja disebabkan kes jerebu.

Jejaka2 Malaya kacak berbaju Melayu. Tuan rumah wajibkan dress code pakai baju tradisional, tu yg beramai2 pakai baju melayu. Macam raya kan? hehehehe

Later that night, ada majlis potong kek dan BBQ

The couple were dancing to a romantic song.

The married couple along with their German friends dah balik pon ke Germany malam tadi. I chatted with the  bridesmaid - Barbara, kawan Zurina since childhood and she said this is her first time she came to Malaysia and experienced a Malay wedding. Wedding kawan baik pulak tu!

I guess for Kak Liza, sure dah rasa lega sbb dah abis dah wedding yg dia dah rancang bertahun2 lamanya.

Cerita Jerebu Lagi

Second week of haze and it's getting worse kan?

We were in Teluk Senangin, Perak over the weekend, attended a wedding there. Kat sana, jerebu takde sangat. Boleh tengok langit biru and inhaled fresh-sea air.

But on the way to Melaka, melalui coast line road Sabak Bernam-Kuala Selangor, boleh nampak la betapa teruknya jerebu. Kat radio pon announced API kat Muar dah melebihi bacaan 700 sampai PM isythiharkan darurat.

Malam tadi sampai Melaka, kalut2 la nak prepare baju sekolah anak2. Tup2 cik HB kata KM Melaka declared semua sekolah seluruh negeri Melaka ditutup pada hari Isnin. Lepas tu dpt sms dr daycare sikembar, bagitau daycare pon ditutup.

Adoiiii...pening mokcik. Baru je happy2 x yah gosok baju tp kena fikir childcare solution pulak...huhuhu. Mujur la Insyirah bukan tinggal kat taska, kalau x, cemana la....

So pagi ni mokcik angkut la sikembar dtg opis. Kalau mokcik ada meeting ad-hoc, harus ku tumpangkan diorg kat rumah makcik babysitter.

With kembar at the office, agak serabut la dibuatnya. Thousands of questions ditanya, sambil nak itu-ini, how do I do my work then?

Kasi layan game....tp kejap2 kang bergaduh!
See the mess in my room...

I'm so lucky, I kind of having a private office. I am the only permanent-occupant in this office. Kadang2 ada la colleagues yg dtg menjengah tapi sgt2 jarang. So having the girls here takde la masalah sgt.

How long this haze situation would go on, tak tau la...as long as I remembered, of all the series of haze we have over the years, this is the worst one sampai kena tutup2 sekolah. It really affects our lives, doesn't it? Sgt la mengharap adanya usaha mengawal kebakaran hutan kat Sumatera tu dr semua pihak. And hopefully takde la org buat pembakaran terbuka lagi samada secara besar2an atau kecil2an.

Jerebu

When I stepped out from the house, it felt like a foggy morning during winter time in Germany.

Except, it is not cold, it is hot and smells burning and very unhealthy!

Kalau tak silap, dah seminggu dah kes jerebu ni, it's not getting better, it's getting worse!

I am concern about the kids, how they survive at school? I heard Muar District has ordered for schools to be closed.

But I guess ramai lagi org takde kesedaran ttg bahaya jerebu ni, tak ramai yg pakai mask (yg termasuk ler tuan tanah sendiri!), ramai yg masih lepak2 diluar dan biar budak2 main kat luar. Semalam masa jemput Insyirah, makcik bbsitter sedap je dukung2 dia kat luar. I had to tell her "jerebu makcik, tak elok duduk kat luar".

Setiap tahun mesti ada masa utk jerebu kan? Sampai bila la macam ni?

Ni yg nak marah ngan negara jiran ni....come on la Indonesia! Take control of your open burnings!!!!

The world has already been very polluted, and yet people just don't care, eh?

All the Love For You

It's month of birthday!

My beloved cik HB has just celebrated his 35th birthday 2 days ago. I  bought a cake from AEON and later that night we went out for dinner at Berkat Salam.

I am not a romantic type so writing a romantic entry is not so me.....hehehe

Anyway....if he happens to read this, here is my wish:

Utk suami tersayang, semoga panjang umur, murah rezeki, dikurniakan kesihatan yg baik dan moga terus menjadi suami dan bapa yg penyayang, bertanggungjawab dan mampu memimpin kehidupan kami anak- beranak dunia akhirat. Aminnnnn
