Di Salzburg, kami menginap di Jess Hotel, yg terletak di Puch Bei Hallein, kira2 11km dr pusat bandar Salzburg. Kami pilih hotel ini disebabkan harganya yg murah, satu mlm 49€. Tapi sgt x sesuai kalau anda travel ke Salzburg tanpa kereta sbb hotel ni terletak di pinggir bandar dan sy tak nampak ada kemudahan public transport ke hotel ini. By the way, kami sgt berpuas hati dgn hotel ini dan rate harganya. Hotel ni sgt baru, perabot pon bau kedai lagi dan designnya moden.

To venture Salzburg city, we used the Park & Ride service, whereby, we drove our car to Salzburg P+R which located about 6km from our hotel. This P+R offers a parking+Salzburg public transport ticket which valid for 5 persons and for one day trip at 13€.
From P+R, we took a bus to city centre and the first we saw when we got down is Mozart´s House. It´s a museum actually, but we didn´t get in because you need to pay if you want to enter. From there, we just followed the direction of crowds of tourists which led us to Salzburg´s river and then the shopping streets, the Salzburg Cathedral and the Fortress.

Salzburg is a histrorical city and also known as Mozart´s City. In generally it´s a beautiful city and thanks to the nice weather of the day, we were able to enjoy the sceneric view of Salzburg. And then, price of things in Salzburg is generally acceptable and a bit cheaper than in Germany. And actually in my view, Austria is very much like Germany - the same language (except for the dialect), the same environment, the same kind of foods.

We went up to the Fortress by funicular. I enjoyed being up there. Besides the views were beautiful, the Fortress is so big that it can house many museums up there with free admission (probably price already taken account with the funicular ticket). I actually like museums & histories...the only thing that stops me from going, is the admission fee! So being in the Fortress, I went in and out every museum and cik HB & the kids had to tag along even though it was boring to them :).

After the Fortress, we went down to the Dom, walked along the Getreidegasse (shopping streets), bought lunch at Nordsee and sat at the river bank, enjoying our lunch. Then we walked to Mirabell Garden. Just had a nice stroll around the garden, enjoying the nice warm weather, beautiful flowers and taking photos.

At 6pm, we left Mirabell Garden and board the bus back to P+R and went back to the hotel. The disadvantage of staying outskirt of the city - the night was so quiet! But it was ok...we cooked nasi goreng (using rice cooker) inside our room and enjoyed watching Terminator 3!
