Despite the extreme heat the day before, the first day of Ramadan came with a cold, rainy and gloomy weather....seriously, it felt like one of those days in winter. Which I think is good, coz with weather like this, it helps fasting easier. Hopefully it will be as cozy as possible in the days to come.
We had some friends came to the house today, making break fast session was more joyful and merrier. Liza and Razif came straight from hospital after their pregnancy-delivery course. And Elfi and Najib and little Aqeel came to stay in our house this weekend as they were just came back from Stuggart and planning to collect Aqeel's passport on Monday before going back to Aachen.
After browsing through Internet, looking for recipes, I finally made up my mind to cook nasi ayam, bubur kacang hijau and karipap sardin. Oh, I will have to complete a one-month menu for breakfast so that I can properly arrange for an effective groceries shopping. Sometimes when you plan to cook something, and there is not enough ingredients, it is very irritating. So as usually, I like to plan ahead, even if sometimes things don't work out the way it should.
Then we had performed solat terawih together.....though there were only 5 of us, it was already enough to feel the Ramadan spirit by performing terawih. On the first night like this, most surau and mosques must be so crowded with people wanting to perform solat terawih, including children who, at most of the times making noise at the back rows, and I used to be annoyed with the situation...but now I realize, it is something that I miss during this fasting month.
Tomorrow there will be a pot-luck break fast session at Liza's place and we will again perform solat terawih together.
