Yesterday, on the way home from work, I stopped on red light at the traffic light. It was raining heavily and very cold weather. There I saw these father-daughter (I assume so), on the motorbike waiting for the green light under the heavy rain.That traffic light usually would be 2-3 minutes on red, so imagine waiting under heavy rain.
It brought back memories.....how I used to ride bike with my father to everywhere during my growing-up years. That was the only means of transportation we had at the time. If we were to go farther then we would ride bus.
Sekarang Alhamdulilah, taraf kehidupan bertambah baik, punya kereta utk kemana2. Anak2 pon celik2 mata, dah tau ada kereta dan senang nak kemana2. Tak perlu berpanas, berhujan. Tak perlu usung beg turun naik bas/keretapi kalau balik kampung. Cuma pernah merasa zaman dok Jerman few years back perlu susah-payah sikit sbb tak berkereta.
Sebab itu bila tengok bermotorsikal (motor kapcai not superbike ye), I akan hormat mereka. Meaning, xde la suka2 nak himpit diorg atas jalan. Marah betul bila pemandu2 kereta/van/lori/bas etc suka2 je himpit the motorbikers or memotong without considering them. Nak2 kalau penunggang motor yg dah berumur, tambah pulak bawak pembonceng yg sedang dukung anak.
Kesian tau....
So if you see people riding on the bikes, please have some empathy and doakan semoga hidup mereka selamat dan sejahtera. Even for mat rempits, didoakan semoga diaorg sedar yang jalan-raya bukan tempat utk jadi hero ye!
